COSTA RICA OCEANIC GREEN CLAY

FROM A SPECIAL CORNER OF OUR FARM in the dry forest we find oceanic Green Clay.  Once under the ocean (a millenia ago), this area of our farm is now 300 meters above sea level and holds green clay.  We pick the clay boulders from a deep ravine, smash and pulverize it, then sift it over and over to acheive the powder-y soft green clay.

GREEN CLAY is loaded with silica - the very substance that gives elasticity, strength and structure to our skin and cells. Green clay releaves insect bites, skin irritations, and infections. Green Clay stimulates the circulation of blood, removes dead skin cells, dirt, pulls out toxins, and tones and strengthens connective tissues.

CLAY IS IDEAL FOR drawing out infection and extracting toxins.  Make a poultice (paste) of clay with water. You can also add other healing compounds, such as: aloe vera, tea, or an essential healing oil.

APPLY THE POULTICE (PASTE) to insect bites, skin irritations, or healing wounds and let dry.

FOR SUNBURNS:  A blend of green clay, aloe vera, lavender and tea tree essential oil is terrific for sun and all types of burns.

A SIMPLE FACIAL MASK ~

In a small dish* or in the palm of your hand:

MIX 3 pinches of fine green clay powder with enough water to make a semi-paste.

APPLY evenly all over your face, forehead, cheeks, around the nose, and neck!

LET DRY to a light green color (about 20 minutes).

RINSE with water. Your skin will feel tight, fresh, and clean.

USE a natural moisturizer afterwards. As the clay pulls toxins from the skin, it draws out

moisture too. An excellent choice is Organic Cocoa Butter.

PACK YOUR WHOLE BODY in an application of green clay. Dry thoroughly.  Rinse with fresh water (or jump in the water if you are at the beach!).

PACK YOUR FEET in clay – softens from heel to toe!

MIX YOUR FACIAL OR BODY MASK WITH:

    ~ ESSENTIAL OILS    ~ HONEY

    ~ COFFEE                   ~ COCOA

    ~ MASHED PAPAYA or MANGO

~ TEA (MINT, GREEN, OR KOMBUCHA)

(*Mix your clay in a china, ceramic, or plastic bowl...(or a banana leaf)...a metal bowl will react and draw heavy metals into your clay mix.)
